What an amazing week of HDI events. Friday, June 4th, kicked off my whirlwind. The HDI Local Chapter Officer Summit in Colorado Springs was an exceptional experience. I have attended this event before, yet I am still surprised by the professional and personal relationships that are established and cultivated between the Local Chapter Officers as well as with the HDI staff at this meeting and throughout the year.

The “Get Your Game On” activities were entertaining, to say the least; the presenters were informative and enjoyable; and the networking opportunities were invaluable (even though the altitude threw me a curve ball and I had to miss the dinner at Garden of the Gods). Kudos to Sophie and all those involved in creating such a memorable, enriching, and successful event!

…and that was just the weekend…

Monday, June 7th, I joined Leslie Cook, HDI’s Forum Program & Logistics Manager, in Denver to kick off this quarter’s HDI forum meetings. It is always great to reconnect with Forum members and meet new ones at the reception the first night and then get down to some in-depth discussions the next day.

I have been working with the Healthcare Providers Forum for over two years on a benchmarking project that always triggers amazing dialogue for the group. Between that, the case studies, the presentations on the group’s selected topics by industry experts, and the always-beneficial “Solve My Problem” activities, I don’t know how we stayed awake for the Downtown Denver entertainment.

I am always amazed at how Leslie pulls these events together. They are crammed packed with practice-sharing, industry-specific information, and fun. I am looking forward to being a part of this again October 18-21 in New Orleans!

It is such a treat for a data geek like me to leave my spreadsheets, surveys, and reports behind for a few days and reconnect with the people behind the numbers. I meet amazing people and learn so much when attending HDI events that it definitely feels like my head is spinning. Call me crazy, but I like it that way. So, I hope you keep it coming. Keep me connected by posting comments about your favorite HDI event experience or with your ideas for future HDI research.  I want to hear from you!
